Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is a common form of irregular heart rhythm; the upper chambers of the heart beat out of sync with the lower chambers, causing the heart to pump ineffectively. Symptoms may include palpitations or racing heartbeats, chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath, fatigue, weakness, or lightheadedness. If untreated, Afib can cause blood to clot in the heart.
Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation Clinic focuses specifically on patients who have history of this heart rhythm disorder. Visits primarily focus on education and foster in-depth discussions between the provider and patient. We focus on utilization of medications and facilitation of lifestyle modifications to help reduce the patient's AFib burden. We also discuss symptom management with patients during each visit.
