ICANL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories) and the ICAEL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories) in association with numerous longstanding medical societies provide peer review to encourage and recognize the provision of quality cardiovascular services. ICANL and ICAEL are non-profit organizations dedicated to ensure high-quality patient care and to promote health care. Participation in the accreditation process is voluntary. Accreditation status signifies that the facility has been review the independent agency that recognizes the laboratory's commitment to quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease.
