Point of care laboratory services have played a major role in the ability of clinicians nationwide to make correct and timely clinical decisions.  Saline Heart Group offers to our community, a CLIA certified, moderately advanced laboratory that has allowed our doctors to closely follow the effects of our medications, medical therapy and procedures on the patients heart.  Aggressive monitoring of cholesterol levels, chemistry levels (like sodium and potassium) and kidney/liver functions are not only encouraged by major insurers, but are considered a quality measurement for a practice. A variety of lab tests are available and are generally directed towards monitoring and improving the lives of our cardiac patients.

Many cardiology groups, larger and smaller have chosen to avoid offering high level laboratory services because of the difficulty and cost of maintaining a CLIA level lab.  Saline Heart Group strongly believes that a strong laboratory makes patient care easier and better.  We utilize the Wasserman ACE chemistry analyzer.  A fast and powerful instrument capable of delivering accurate and timely results.  Similar machines are utlilized around the country in small and medium sized hospitals.  Our analyzer and other laboratory machines will soon be integrated into our electronic medical record system.  This will eventually allow patients to see their lab results online.  It will also integrate lab results directly into the patient medical record.

The Saline Heart Group clinical lab is directed by Stacie Griffin. She leads a talented group of technicians/phlebotomists.  Our technical advisor is Laura Moody.  Easy access and expert phlebotomy are greatly appreciated by our patients.  Our unique and convenient clinical laboratory services along with high level technologies are proudly offered to our community by Dr. Baxley and Dr. Hatch.  Please call our office for additional information.
