Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac Rehabilitation is an exercise and education program that has been
shown to improve quality of life, decrease cardiac mortality and improve
the following conditions:

  • Heart attack
  • Open heart surgery
  • Heart Stent Procedures
  • Chronic chest pain
  • Heart failure – related to ischemia (chronic coronary blockage)
  • Heart valve replacement

Cardiac rehabilitation is not an ordinary exercise program. It is a program
that improves overall patient outlook by changing lifestyle, habits and
providing education about cardiac risk factors.

  • Counseling to quit smoking
  • Education
  • Monitored Exercise with an exercise physiologist
  • On site cardiologist
  • Often leads to very significant improvement in exercise ability and strength.Covered by Medicare and most insurance plans
  • Offered to residents of Saline County (SHG patients do have first priority)
